MATRIC AWARDS STATEMENT The Executive Mayor of the Metsweding District Municipality Councillor Agnes Mlondobozi in partnership with Gauteng Department of Education, and the two local municipalities - Kungwini and Nokeng Tsa Taemane - held the Matric Awards on the 13th February 2008, 17H00 at Bronkhorstspruit Sports Centre for those students who did exceptionally well for the year 2008. The event focused mainly on those students who are from the disadvantaged families. This is part of the Executive Mayors’ programme for the vulnerable groups in Metsweding and intended to ensure that learners give their best in their studies. It is also meant to encourage a culture of learning to students, so that they can play an important role in the growth and development of the economy in future.
